Halloween Pics and excitement!
Hello again. Halloween was uneventful, or at least the weekend was, but Monday, the actual day, was wonderful! I went to Hang Hau around 5 in the evening and bought two somewhat large pumpkins from the local store, Jusco. It's kind of like a Super Target or Walmart. Has everything that you could want. Grocery store, clothing, electronics, etc. I had been looking for cheaper pumpkins all weekend, but had no luck. Earlier on Friday I looked at the prices of the pumpkins at Jusco, and they were around 70-80 for a smaller size (around 10 US dollars). Right away was kind of disappointed at that, and thus ruled out pumpkins this year unless I found them for cheaper. I searched and searched, but with no avail. So, I just decided I would buy them from Jusco since the two locals I was going to carve them with had never done so before. After buying the pumpkins, a big spoon, a knife, and candles, I headed back to campus, to show my friends what I had bought. They were astonished at the size of them, and they were probably two of the smaller pumpkins I've ever bought. That was when the fun began. I showed them how to cut them open and scoop out all the guts inside. They had a blast, and loved doing the dirty work, making my life easier, haha. I think the most fun is watching too, especially for first timers. Sing Sing's brother also came to carve the pumpkins along with Mei Ling (previously referred to Claire, which I spelled wrong, haha) and me. After getting the pumpkins all carved, we took a bunch of pictures and then went outside to light them. Later we went to a Halloween party and then stood outside the party with the pumpkins, eating some snacks and talking to people coming by. Also, it was a constant battle with the wind to try to keep them lit. We were successful however, and had a wonderful time. Now they are currently sitting outside the Hall 4 entrance, and have stayed there for a few days now without anyone stealing them or destroying them, yay!! Every once in awhile I head back down to light new candles to show them off, haha. That's it for Halloween of 2005. Tomorrow is Friday, yay for the weekend. Talk to you later. Post please!!

Way to go, Gringo! Just too bad you couldn't roast those pumpkin seeds. Would have brought the FULL experience to Sing Sing and Mei Ling. I'll have to dig out photos of your old pumpkin carvings and scan them in for you to share....maybe even with you in your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume???? Love, MOM
